Katia graduated in Anthropology and Geography from the University of Montreal (UdeM) and completed her studies through an inter-university exchange program at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in 2017. She then specialized in sustainable food systems during her master’s degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM).
She has worked at several research centers, such as UQAM’s Center for Research on Ecological Transition and the Urban Agriculture Laboratory (AU/LAB), between 2019 and 2022. Her work focuses on socio-ecological transition initiatives related to food, the promotion of sustainable consumption models in response to climate change, and the development of more informed, engaged, and politically active communities.
At the Living Lab for Health at IrsiCaixa, she collaborates on the European projects FoodCLIC, FOSTER and CLEVERFOOD, which aim to transform local food systems into more resilient models.
