Biography

Cristina Saiz graduated in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2017 and obtained a master's degree in Neuroscience from the University of Barcelona (UB) in 2018. Cristina continued her research career with the Neuroimaging and Mental Health group at IDIBELL, where she pursued her PhD in Medicine and Translational Research linked to UB. During her PhD, she completed an international stay at the Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School. Her research interests include neuroimaging studies in psychosis, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, among others. Her doctoral thesis focuses on investigating the multimodal connectivity of the brain's major neurotransmitter systems. Additionally, she has completed several national and international supplementary courses in neuroimaging and project management. She joined IDIBELL as a researcher in 2018, and in 2023 she worked on project coordination at the Clinic Foundation for Biomedical Research (FCRB). In 2024, she joined the Research Management Office of IrsiCaixa as a project manager.

In the academic field, Cristina Saiz has been a lecturer at UB, where she has taught psychology and biomedicine classes. She has also contributed to over 15 high-impact scientific publications, coordinated multidisciplinary teams, and attended numerous scientific congresses and workshops.
