Óscar Blanch

Pre-doctoral researcher

Óscar Blanch graduated in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona) in 2015. In 2016 he completed the MSc in AIDS Pathogenesis and Treatment from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

In 2016 he joined the IrsiCaixa Viral Immune Evasion and Vaccines (VIRIEVAC) group, led by Julia García Prado. His work focused on phenotypically characterizing viruses from HIV-1 infected patients with virological failure to protease inhibitors.

Since 2017, thanks to a FI pre-doctoral fellowship, Blanch has been undertaking his doctoral thesis, aimed at phenotypically characterizing the expression of Immune Checkpoints in subpopulations of T-CD8+ lymphocytes from different types of HIV-1 patients.
